High-performing team in national award win
Our food waste operations team have been awarded 'Team of the Year - Private Sector' at this year's National Recycling Awards.
The award was won by the operations team for their hard work and commitment towards running our food waste recycling facility in Bristol.
The team, led by food plant supervisor Tom Phelps, consists of six shift operators, who responsible for the smooth running and effective day-to-day management of the facility.
Two of the operators, Matthew Williams and Zachary Strange, travelled to London where they spoke to a panel of judges about the team's roles and responsibilities within the food waste recycling plant.
The team was judged on a number of different elements, including team involvement, safety, performance and delivery of new innovative solutions.
Food plant supervisor Tom Phelps said: "The team members always go above and beyond their expected duties, and have made great improvements to how we run the operation. It is the dedication and determination of the team that has driven us to success!"
