  • GENeco has had recent success with awards at both the local and national scale.

    REA Awards 2017

At the UK Renewable Energy Association’s annual awards, GENeco was crowned winner of the Sustainability category for its composting operations. The innovative process pioneered by GENeco diverts 27,000 tonnes of waste from landfill every year.

Gas to grid engineer Josh Cooke was highly commended as a contender for the Young Renewable Energy Professional award.

GENeco was also successful at the Bristol Post Business Awards, winning Environmental Business of the Year. The award recognised its contribution in stimulating the local circular economy. GENeco recycles both sewage sludge and food waste from Bristol and Bath, using it to produce renewable energy and biofertilisers.

Managing director Mohammed Saddiq said: “The REA awards is the most prestigious event in the UK's renewable energy calendar and success here is testament to our industry-leading service.”

“We are also delighted to have been recognised by the local business community. GENeco is passionate about its position at the heart of Bristol’s green scene and using its waste to produce enough energy to power over 10,000 homes.”
